How It All Started
Like many good things, Book Shops started with a frustration. We kept ordering books online — only to receive the wrong edition, a low-quality copy, or something that looked nothing like what was listed. We found it hard to trust what we were buying.
So we decided to do something about it. We built a bookstore we would want to shop at ourselves — one that is honest about what it sells, clear about its prices, and actually reachable when something goes wrong.
We're based in KK Nagar, Madurai, Tamil Nadu — a city that has always had a deep relationship with literature, language, and learning. That spirit is something we carry into everything we do at Book Shops.

Book Shops is a direct-to-customer online bookstore. We are not a marketplace — we do not allow third-party sellers. Every book listed on our website is stocked and dispatched by us directly.
We source books from publishers, authorized distributors, and trusted wholesalers across India. We inspect every batch for quality before listing. When you place an order, we pack it carefully at our warehouse in Madurai and dispatch it through our shipping partners — Bluedart and Delhivery via Shiprocket.
We believe in free shipping for everyone — no minimum order, no hidden delivery charges. Cash on Delivery is available across India at no extra cost.

What You Should Know
Shipping
We offer FREE shipping on all orders across India. No minimum order value, no conditions. Orders are dispatched in 1–2 business days and typically arrive in 3–7 business days.
Cash on Delivery
COD is available across all serviceable pin codes in India. No advance payment required. You pay the full amount in cash when the book is delivered to your door.
Returns & Refunds
If you receive a damaged book, the wrong title, or something not as described, contact us within 15 days of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or a full refund. We do not accept returns for "change of mind."
Authenticity
All books sold on Book Shops are genuine and original. We do not sell pirated copies, digital files, second-hand books, or photocopies. If you ever receive a suspicious book, contact us immediately.
