Orders & Payments
How do I place an order?
Browse or search for your book, add it to cart, and proceed to checkout. You can pay via UPI, Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or Cash on Delivery.
Is Cash on Delivery available?
Yes! COD is available on most pin codes across India. You can check COD availability by entering your pin code on the product page before ordering.
Can I modify my order after placing it?
Orders can be modified only before dispatch. Please contact us immediately at support@bookshops.in or WhatsApp +91 99446 78357 if you need to change your order.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM), Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), Net Banking, and Cash on Delivery.
Is it safe to enter my card details on BookShops.in?
Yes. All payments are processed by Razorpay, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. We never store your card details on our servers.
Will I receive an invoice for my order?
Yes. A digital invoice is emailed to you after your order is confirmed. You can also download it from your account dashboard under My Orders.
Shipping & Delivery
What is the shipping charge?
Shipping is FREE on all orders above ₹499. For orders below ₹499, a flat ₹49 shipping fee applies. No hidden charges.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days. Delivery takes 2–4 days for metros, 3–6 days for other cities, and 5–10 days for remote areas.
How do I track my order?
Once dispatched, you will receive a tracking number via email and SMS. You can also track your order from the Track Order page or your account dashboard.
Do you deliver across India?
Yes, we deliver to all serviceable pin codes across India via Shiprocket (Bluedart, Delhivery, Ecom Express, and other carriers).
What if my book arrives damaged?
Contact us within 15 days with a photo of the damage. We will arrange a free replacement or full refund immediately.
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?
We offer a 15-day return window from the date of delivery for damaged, wrong, or defective books. Please see our full Returns Policy for details.
How long does a refund take?
Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item. The amount is credited back to your original payment method.
Do I have to pay for the return shipping?
No. If the return is due to our error (damaged, wrong book), we arrange and pay for the reverse pickup. You do not pay anything.
Can I return a book if I simply changed my mind?
We do not accept returns for change of mind or personal preference. Returns are accepted only for genuine issues (damage, wrong item, defective printing).
Books & Products
Are the books you sell genuine?
Yes. We sell only 100% authentic, brand-new books sourced from authorized publishers and distributors. We do not sell pirated or second-hand books.
Are the books new or used?
All books on BookShops.in are brand-new and in excellent condition. We do not sell used or second-hand books.
What if a book I want is out of stock?
You can contact us at support@bookshops.in with the book title and ISBN. We will check availability and notify you when it is back in stock.
Do you have books in languages other than English?
Currently, our catalogue primarily features English-language books. We are working on expanding our collection to include regional language titles.
