A Forgotten Liberator

This collection of essays brings alive the life & struggle of Savitribai, perhaps the greatest woman of the nineteenth century India. We find in this book examples of her poetry never before translated into English. An essay from one of her own dalit school girls encapsulates the misery of their plight and the passion with which they sought justice.
