Darby is extremely articulate, literate, and has a healthy sense of skeptism. This is a fascinating account of how this skeptism gave way to belief in both an afterlife. As wise as Stephen is in his answers, he makes it clear that he has never been to what we might call the seventh heaven. He is many graduations removed from ultimate knowledge.
